Conference on Territorial Cohesion and the future of the cohesion policy

Under the French Presidency, last 30 and 31 October, took place in Paris a Conference on Territorial Cohesion where representatives form the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Committee of the Regions, presented their opinion about the future of the Cohesion Policy.

During this event, the fact that the Green Paper doesn’t take into consideration the local level has been underlined like a big deficit. This deficit means that we did not succeed to have a working coherence between the 3 levels of Administration, to know: State, Region, local and intermediate local authorities.

Furthermore, the need of working with a common approach of territorial cohesion has been pointed out in order to develop territories in the best way. The need of taking into account the territorial impact of each sectoral policy has also been announced.
