European Commission proposes Renewed Social Agenda: Opportunities, Access and Solidarity in the Europe of XXIst Century

At the beginning of July 2008 the Commission put forward a comprehensive and ambitious package of initiatives for coping with social change in a global economy. It thus aims to ensure that social policy keeps pace with changes in society. The Commission’s new social proposals seek to foster jobs, education and skills development, fight discrimination, support mobility and enable Europeans to live longer, healthier lives.
