The i-Partenalia working group launches the report entitled “Second-Tier Local Administrations: Their Contribution to the European Society of Innovation and Knowledge” on local contribution to the aims of innovation and social cohesion in Europe.

The aim of this report, promoted by the Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa as leader of the i-Partenalia group, claims three fundamental objectives: moving and promoting policies and interventions of regional policy officials of the European Commission, in which the role of the second-tier local administrations is considered crucial; motivating the second-tier local administrations who are members of Partenalia to develop their own growth and employment strategies using the Lisbon Strategy as a reference; and lastly contribution to foster the development of interventions for quality growth which focuses on innovation, knowledge and the creation of more and better jobs.

Last 20th June in Brussels, the report was presented to the Direction of Regional Policy of the European Commission.
