Ireland’s Border Regional Authority – Intelligent Energy Europe

Ireland’s Border Regional Authority is looking for Project partners under the current call for Intelligent Energy Europe. They have two project ideas which they would like to progress under the Integrated Initiatives (Local Energy Leadership) and STEER (energy in transport) strands.

Project Idea 1 -Uptake of Renewable Energy in Border Regions: Identify and quantify the uptake of renewable energy options.
To outline the local and regional  contribution towards meeting National renewable energy and climate change targets.
(Intelligent Energy Europe – Integrated Initiatives)

Project Idea 2 – Development of Greenways to encourage modal shift within and between key settlements.
To improve the provision of sustainable transport modes (ideally, within cross-border contexts) whilst reducing the dependence on the private motor car and encouraging and enabling modal shift. This will identify existing and proposed greenways to provide a network of cycle and walkways that will link key settlements. In addition, it will provide an alternative and sustainable mode of transport by means of greenway networks that are linked with public transport networks and facilities.
(Intelligent Energy Europe – STEER)

They are particularly interested in working with an organisation with the capacity to act as lead partner who may be interested in progressing similar types of projects.
