PARTENALIA members participated in the sixth edition of the Open Days

From the 6 to 9 October took place in Brussels the sixth edition of the Open Days. This year, the European Week of Regions and Cities turned around the issue “Regions and Cities in a challenging world”.

The program included working sessions in these 4 subjects:

  • Innovative regions: promoting investigation, technological development and innovation
  • Sustainable development: regional answers for the climate change
  • Cooperation and networks: exchange of best practices in regional development
  • Looking to the future: a European cohesion policy for the future

In this Edition, the Province of Barcelona participated by leading a project called “attractive cities, strategies to succeed” and organized two seminars: one about how local authorities can manage ERDF funds in order to ameliorate the innovation and the competencies of their territory, and other about the keys for territorial innovation: attracting talent.

Parallel to that, Cáceres and Badajoz Provinces participated in the conglomerate N3N, NUTS III Network. The President of Cáceres Provincial council, Mr. Juan Andrés Tovar, presented during the seminar “The CEPLI, a new partner for leading the dialogue between Europe and their territories”, the experiences of its Provincial Council in the field of territorial cooperation.

During the second seminar of N3N about the capacity of intermediate local authorities to foment the innovation, the politician Ma José Hormigo from Badajoz Provincial Council debated about the contribution of local authorities to the competitiveness and about the definition of the support to innovation in the local policies.
