Last Tuesday October 8th during the Political Council held in Brussels, Partenalia had the pleasure of welcoming the County Council of Staffordshire as a new member of the association. In doing so, it has become the first English County Council to join us. Partenalia is thus making headway in its enlargement strategy by adding a member from a previously unrepresented Member State. This addition to our ranks therefore provides the association with even greater legitimacy and diversity in its representation of Local Intermediate Authorities and with greater weight on the European institutional scene.
The County Council of Staffordshire, covering an area of 2783km², is located in the center of England and has a population of over 1.000.000. Surrounded by forests and a rich and diversified natural environment, its largest city is Stoke-on-Trent and its country town is Stafford.
Its economy is based on agriculture, the manufacture of China as well as the elaboration of sanitary products.
