Last Monday, 1st December, the First European Summit of Local Intermediate Governments was held in the Committee of the Regions. Representatives of associations and intermediate local administrations in Europe participated as speakers. This Summit has been one of the highlight event organized by Partenalia since its foundation.
The event, broadcasted live on webstreaming and through Twitter with the hashtag #Multilevel_EU, and accessible in five languages, English, French, Spanish, German and Italian, was a success, not only because of the participation, but also because of the interest of all the issues discussed in each of the speeches.
Both the opening speech of the President of the Committee of the Regions, Michel Lebrun, the presentation of vicepresident, Luc Van den Brande, the debates of local intermediate associations and authorities, or the closure speech of the President of Partenalia, Javier Moliner, emphasised the need to work together in order to advance towards the multilevel governance in Europe.
