The Diputación de Ourense (Spain) approved last Friday, 25th of September, during the plenary session of the institution the adhesion to the international association Partenalia.
The 1st and 2nd of October the association will celebrate the Political Council and an international conference in Peñíscola (Castellón, Spain). During this meeting, the members of the association will approve the membership of the Diputación de Ourense. The President of the Diputación de Ourense, Manuel Baltar, will attend this meeting.
Province of Ourense
The Province of Ourense is located in the northwestern Spain and the south-eastern part of the region of Galicia. With an area of 7.278 square km it is the only landlocked province in the region od Galicia. The provincial capital, Ourense, is the largest population centre, with the rest of the province being predominantly rural.
One the main economic sectors of Ourense is the industry, which includes chemical manufacture, milk production and clothing manufacture.
Although not a major tourist center, tourism contributes somewhat to the economy too with spectacular scenery of the river valleys and medieval towns.
