The President of the Diputación de Cáceres, Mrs. Charo Cordero, passed away on December, 24th at age 54 after a year-long struggle against cancer.
President Baltar honored her memory with the following words:
“2020 has left us very harsh news: the death of Charo Cordero, the President of the Cáceres Provincial Council, an active member of Partenalia. Charo will always be with us. She was also the Mayor of her town, Romangordo.
A politician committed to her land and deeply European. She always with the right and consensus-generating word. She was always very busy solving the problems of her neighbours and bringing European institutions closer to the territory.
I also shared with her leadership roles in the National Federation of Municipalities with Reservoirs, a forum of understanding where the sense of common interest always prevailed leaving her partisan interests in the background.
I will always remember Charo as a fighter, as a great public servant, as someone to trust and tremendously institutional. Her loss is enormous. Her memory eternal.
