The Province of Liège, Culture Department International (Belgium), within the framework of the European Interreg project “Coal, Steel, Sweat and Fire”, organizes the international conference “Industrial sites of the Greater Region. Between memory and innovation. Cultural, social and economic challenges of a changing heritage”, that will be held the 2nd and 3rd of April 2015 in the Cité Miroir-Sauvenièr, Liege.
The seminar will focus on the crisis and the transformation of former industrial basins in a European perspective. It will deal with the passing on of the large material and cultural heritage linked with the industrial past to future generations. It will also analyse the opportunities and the challenges ahead of the future. These two days will offer the opportunity to bring together scientists and actors working in areas such as economic government, social dialogue, history, the passing on of memory, new technologies, urban planning, European institutions as well as cultural and touristic heritage development.
Simultaneous translation (French-German-English) will be available throughout the seminar.
